Great pop-punk band from Japan, a favourite of Sonic Youth and Nirvana who earned their place in rock history with a DIY punk attitude and self-promotion before being catapulted to fame by association with aforementioned acts. As with most pop-punk acts, they are less serious about themselves and their music, but this doesn't stop them writing brilliant tunes, and performing them with a zeal few bands have.
