One of my favourite indie acts, the Thermals fuse pop sensibilities with a punk attitude and some witty lyricism to really make their mark above and beyond the norm. The vocalist bothers me a little with his nasal sound, but really, the rhythm section make up for it, providing a driving, exciting base across which they throw a scattering of pop hooks and punky riffs. Highly recommended, this is the first two albums in one .rar, Fuckin' A and More Parts Per Million. The production on each is pretty rough, particularly on More Parts... but it just adds to the charm of it all.
