So, my first contribution. This is something I should have listened to earlier in my life. A marvelous New Cuban Trova album, with some material having been written between '68 and '70. This is all accoustic material which changes my opinion about accoustic guitars being retarded. There's real poetry to it, and a whole load of emotion like very few things do.

Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit!

" Tongue-tied, bleeding from your eyes, even Christ himself would cringe at the sight of your scars. While you're counting sheep, i'll count my lucky stars. You were the last good thing i ever saw."

This is the closest thing I have to a guilty pleasure. Alkaline Trio is a Pop-punk/pop-rock band (depending on the release) from Chicago, and honestly, I'm not even sure why I like them. I hate just about every other band there associated with (like Hotwater music) but them I just have this undying love for. This is there first, and my favorite album of there's, and its also there most 'punky'. There lyrics range from really sappy, almost cheesy (but kinda cute) love songs, to depressing songs of loss and alcohol abuse. Hope you guys like this one.

Neo-Post-WapanRock

Post-Rock from Japan. Others say they have a few Neo-Classical elements, but I am a bit skeptical about it so, yeah.
It is a good listen during the winter or the rainy season or when you just want to chill and play some flOwer or flOw on your PS3. really cool....really.

Fact: During the 5 minutes of typing everything you're currently reading. I accidentaly hit the "Publish Post" three times before actually writing anything and I edited the post twice because I made a typing error and forgot to put the link.

Leechmilk

Holy fuck. This shit is bleak. Like majorly fucking sludge metal, for fans of bands like Eyehategod and Noothgrush, that high energy, doomy, fucking sludgy fucking music. Leechmilk is a band from Atlanta, Georgia a destructive combination of sludge grind and punk. These guys will fuck you up, the album is relatively short, but it'll blow you away.

The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium

Artist: The Mars Volta
Album: De-loused in the Comatorium
Genre: Experimental, Progressive Rock
Website: http://www.themarsvolta.com/

This is The Mars Volta's first studio album. It's their most solid record to date mainly because of song structure. This album stays consistent with its musician's abilities to improvise and experiment without losing control over the song or the listener's attention. Their other albums tend to lose focus after a few minutes. This one has the best vocals, guitar, and drum work, so give it a listen, it's really awesome.

Tracklist:
1. Son et Lumière - (1:35)
2. Inertiatic ESP – (4:24)
3. Roulette Dares (The Haunt of) – (7:31)

Nico Vega - No Child Left Behind

Artist: Nico Vega
Album: No Child Left Behind EP
Genre: Indie/Alternative Rock
Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/nicovega

Nico Vega are a sweet little indie band from Los Angeles, California. The three-piece band has Rich Koehler playing guitar melody lines, Dan Epand laying the beats, and Aja Volkman on the suprisingly good vocals. The reason I like this band isn't because they're female fronted, it's because their frontwoman actually has a unique voice. It's almost raspy, but the way she hits the melodies is sweet. She's also cute, which is a plus. Chris, you'll probably like this band.

Tracklist:
1. Gravity (2:34)
2. Be Giving (3:37)
3. Wooden Dolls (4:08)
4. This Too Shall Pass (2:13)
5. Medicine Man (3:02)

Johnny Hollow

Artist: Johnny Hollow
Album: s/t and non-album tracks
Genre: Darkwave, Ambient, Electronica, Classical
Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/johnnyhollowmusic
Website: http://www.johnnyhollow.com/

I bring you Johnny Hollow. This band is nothing short of amazing. It mixes electronic ambiance with gothic and darkwave melody. Kitty Thompson plays the cello, and uses it in conjunction with several effects pedals. Janine White displays her beautiful yet haunting vocals over Vincent Marcone's electronic handiwork. The group produces a unique sound which is "sometimes uplifting and, at other times, deeply oppressive"(Urptsukidojis Pad webzine). This band is perfect for deep thought, creative inspiration, or even when you just feel the need for ambiance. If you like the group's sound, you should check out their website: designed by Marcone himself, it's every bit as breathtaking as the music. Also included is a folder of remixes of some of the album songs, so enjoy that.

Album Tracklist:
1. Bag of Snow
2. Halfway To God
3. Untitled
4. Rasputin
5. Motherless Child
6. Gone
7. Stolen
8. Mary
9. Dark Thing
10. Shock Me Peter
11. Skeleton Song
12. Tremor

Sonic Youth - Experimenta Jet Set, Trash and No Star

Sonic Youth's most popular album, including their highest charting single, Bull in the Heather, the video of which featured a cameo appearance from Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill. This is an easy album to get into, but infinitely rewarding.
