Christmas with the Rat Pack

Off with my over coat, off with my gloves,
who needs an over coat, I'm burning with love!

The Rat Pack is a group of musicians and actors of the 1960s, most well known of which is the trio of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. This is an album I picked up at Costco a couple years back, and I put it away in a box on my hard drive for most of the year, and when December roles around I blow the dust off it and play is ceaselessly. You know, you guys should be grateful of where you are (unless you're in the tropics like me), shit the only change you notice in Hawaii is the stores get decked out in September! Oh, what I would give to see the leaves change, and snow fall.

Merry Christmas, brothers.

Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra: The Man. The. Motherfucking. Man.
Actually, when I was away on my trip into the mainland, on the way to Pennsylvania from Missouri, I actually got into an argument about ol' blue eyes with my aunty. She was arguing that some fuck from Canada (Michael blue-bley or some shit) was better than Frank. He's a good singer, but he ain't no Frank Sinatra. Her argument for why I should like him is that he sounds like Frank Sinatra. If you like him because he sounds like Frank Sinatra, why not just listen to Frank Sinatra?

Anyway. Needless to say: I won that fucking argument. Why? Because Frank Sinatra is the fucking man. So in the spirit of Frank Sinatra being the fucking man, I'm uploading 3 discs of Frank Sinatra, 36-All Time Favorites. Beautiful music for the heart sick, the hopelessly in love, and in general all the classy motherfuckers.

My story is much too sad to be told... (Disc 1)
I've got the world on a string, sittin' on a rainbow... (Disc 2)
Come fly with me, come fly, lets fly away... (Disc 3)

Blood, Sweat and Tears

"You made me so very happy
I'm so glad you came into my life"

Blood Sweat and Tears is a band formed in New York City around 1967. Popularly called "Jazz Rock" they incorporate a good bit of Genre's into there music, including Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Pop. This is there second album and my current favorite (of those I've listened to). They are also pretty good live, I was lucky enough to see them at the Maryland Blues fest this year. Give this one a spin and see how you feel.

MIDORI IS BACK!

BAND: ミドリ (Midori)
COUNTRY: Japan
ALBUM: Swing
GENRE: Noise / Jazz / Hardcore / Experimental

Notes:
Midori is back with a new single which is under the label Sony Japan (Long Live the Sony!)

Quite frankly, I wasn't that much impressed. The full blown mindless mayhem found on their previous albums (and EP) kind of toned down. Hopefully this isn't an indication of the band's shift to a more accesible sound.

The Discography can be found here and in the Demiphoenix blog. Well, it is basically the same links.

The above cover is for the Standard edition while the one below this is the DVD edition.

Short Cake

BAND: つしまみれ
COUNTRY: The land of Sony, Long live the Sony!
ALBUM: 脳みそショートケーキ
GENRE: It's a blender of sort. J-POP / Punk Rock / Jazz / Happycore

Notes:
It's good to be quite honest. I really enjoyed it.
